First and foremost, a thousand apologies to Todd A. Moments before our phone interview my headset dramatically decided to die. You see, Justin and I use Skype to conduct phone interviews. Without a headset one must utilize their speakers. I briefly conducted a soundcheck only to find that my speakers caused an echo. And, in order for me to minimize it my speakers were nearly off. So, imagine my head nearly laying on my keyboard trying to hear Todd while reading my notes. Needless to say, at times I cut him off…or there were awkward pauses. So again, I sincerely apologize and appreciate your patience. Because of the echo, a vast amount of time went into editing the interview. Upon entering the Urban Lounge, I was struck with a level of excitement I haven’t felt for a while. I, by no means claim to be an expert in music or music theory for that matter. But I know enough to truly appreciate the musicianship of Firewater. Their blend of world music has allowed them to craft a distinct and unique sound which translates into their live show. Seeing Firewater for the first time was truly a wonderful experience. Technical, raw and energetic there was so much to take in and never a dull moment. If you’re someone who truly appreciates technicality within music, I highly suggest Firewater’s discography along with their live show. From
