Since their inception, The Portland Cello Project have challenged the general publics perception on classical music and arrangement. Having successfully bridged the gap between multiple genres with classical music, The Portland Cello Project continue to revolutionize a unique aspect of the music industry. They do so with a three part mission: 1: To bring the cello to places you wouldn’t normally hear it i.e. The State Room. 2: Play music on the cello you wouldn’t normally hear i.e. Kanye West. And 3: Build bridges across all musical communities by bringing a diverse assortment of musical collaborators on stage with them. “Everyone from the Dandy Warhols to Peter Yarrow to Ben Sollee to Mirah to Garrison Keillor…”
